Blue Jay Sessions is back! I have Dan Clapson (Eat North, Globe & Mail and Blue Jay Sessions) and Wyatt C. Louis (Calgary Folk Country Artist) as my guests for this very special bonus episode all about Blue Jay Sessions: Summer Nights! Welcome back to Dan and welcome welcome to Wyatt!!

It takes place July 7-10 and will feature 24 talented musicians performing in different sessions in captivating songwriters' circles. Singers will share their original music and the stories behind their songs. It’s been a long time since most musicians have performed live, so they've been asked to bring some high energy anthems with them too.

The current sessions will feature artists such as British Columbia’s Kristin Carter, Edmonton’s D’orjay The Singing Shaman, Calgary artists Matt Blais, duo As High As We Go, Justine Vandergrift and Jess Knights and Nehiyaw singer Wyatt C. Louis. There will be two sessions per night. 6pm and 9pm!

As always, they have some fun food created by talented Top Chef Canada alum Elycia Ross and drink options including  plenty of Russell Brewing Co. craft beer including their very own Blue Jay Sessions beer.

Blue Jay Sessions: Summer Nights will also serve as a fundraiser for Skipping Stone Foundation. Partial ticket sales will be donated to the charity as well as proceeds from sales of nightly posters and limited edition t-shirts.

This round of Blue Jay Sessions will take place in a cool (and covered) outdoor event space adjacent to Ill-Fated Kustoms in the Manchester Industrial area. This space boasts plenty of parking, is a short Uber ride from the heart of Calgary and a 15 minute walk from the Chinook LRT station.

The Blue Jay Sessions will also release a new single to all streaming services on July 7 to benefit Skipping Stone, a Calgary-based organization that supports trans and gender-diverse youth and their families. Twenty singers from across Canada, lent their voice to the single, a cover of Amanda Marshall’s Sitting on Top of the World.

Continuing to keep health and safety front-of-mind, we will be adhering to all live performance safety protocols put forward by Alberta Health Services.

You can find out more about Blue Jay Sessions on all social media platforms and you can find Wyatt C. Louis on all streaming platforms and all social media platforms and on his website as well!
