Strong Dads - Why Jesus? Episode 141

Do you believe in God?  How about just a superior being?  Do you really not know what to believe?  Why is believing in Jesus so important?  These are many more were some of the questions that I had as I came through my understanding of who I was and who God is.  This is often not a one time learning experience where you hear it one time and you believe it.  For me, this has been and continues to be a journey.  But, I have found it to be a worthy journey.  One that produces lots of answers and yes, even more questions.  

It is okay to question our faith.  God is not afraid of your questions.  He has the answers and He can't wait for you to dig deeper and search for those answers. You might ask, "why do I have to dig?"  Why doesn't he just come out and tell us so there is no guessing about it?  

The digging is where the solidfication and stengthening take place.  When we do something we learning it at a much deeper level.  It sinks into our core of understanding.  Our faith is something we "do". We must be willing to do the heavy lifting in order for us to truly grasp the depth of God's presence and His word.  

In this show, I wanted to take the time to share some of my own processing and digging to find a deeper meaning and purpose of my life and God's relationship in my life.  Parts of this might sound familiar to you.  If so, great!  Other parts may seem trivial or even juvenile, that's fine too.  My journey is not yours and yours is not mine.  But, if we can nudge each other along to a deeper understanding of meaning and purpose in life, I belief we can all be better for it.
