It can be pretty easy to call yourself a Christian and believe you are treating others as such if you stay within your inner circle of family and friends.  But the question that Strong Dads felt challenged by was - When was the last time you talked to someone outside your circle?  People that maybe live a different lifestyle, or have experiences that are vastly different than your own.
Christ calls us to love each other.  That love is unconditional love.  The kind of love that goes past boundaries and prejudices.  The kind of love that sees the heart of a human and recognizes it as being every bit as important as their own.
In this show, Kyle and Hutch bring about a guest from the past, Tyler Schmidt.  Tyler is the founder of The LIT Movement. (Living in Testimony).  This movement is about working with, encouraging, and challenging, the addicts.  Most of what Tyler sees are men that seem like they are on their last chance in life.  They are often homeless, jobless, and even "famililess".  They have no place to turn and have no future on their current tract.
Because of their addiction, they have lost relationships and blown opportunities in multiple areas of life.  We would say they are at rock-bottom.  But, as crazy as it seems, many find a new level of rock-bottom by staying in the addictive lifestyle.  As Tyler says: "Their brains are not open for business.".  They can say all the right things and believe all the right things, but the power of addiction continues to devour them.

With all that being said, they are still people.  They all have a story.  They have family and responsibilities.  They have purpose!  We are not called to kick them to the streets. We are called to love them.  The question becomes: How do you love an addict?" This is the conversation that Tyler helps us with as we learn more about the mind of the addict and how to care for them in a loving way that gives the best opportunity for sobriety and life.
