Strong Dads - Tired of Going to Work? Try Going to Purpose! Episode 171

Is work a have to or a want to for you?  All of us have been guilty at one time or another of making a statement like, "I have to go to work today", and yes, you may very well have to.  But, the question of whether you are doing what you are made to do or not will be answered when you can think more often with the mindset of wanting to go to work.  

As men we were made to work.  Maybe that's hard physical labor or maybe it's posting our butt in a chair and allowing our mind to do all the work.  Whatever it is, we are called to work.  But maybe a better word could be used to describe what we were made for.  How about the word, purpose?  We were made for a purpose.  We were made as men to produce, provide, and protect, which is part of our purpose. 

While a few days off here and there might feel like what the doctor ordered, we as men, need purposeful work to ignite our day and give us the reason to get out of bed everyday.  The challenge is this, are you in a work place that is satisfying your purpose?  If you are not believing, feeling, or thinking that what you do is valuable, then it may be time to reassess your vocation and explore better options that put you on your purpose. 

Life is too short to get stuck in a meaningless rut.  Find your purpose as God designed it to be. Stop running from the gifts God gave you and put them to use to serve others.  Are you naturally talented at something? Put it to use!  Does your mind constantly gravitate towards particular interests, go after them with the idea of using them to serve others.  

In a nutshell, all of our purpose comes down to loving God and serving others.  When you begin doing this, you will no longer be going to work, but rather, you will be going to purpose!
