Strong Dads - Teaching Values over Standards of Achievement - Episode 107

All parents want their kids to do well.  We want them to win!  We teach them everyday to do their best, never quit, go hard, be the best, etc....  But, is this really the message we should be sending to our kids?  

Strong Dads takes a hard look at what the foundation of achievement standards needs to rest on for the well-being of our kids as well as our global community.  We have seen far too often that when people set out to achieve at a high level they often will do it at the cost of something far more valuable.  Win at all cost,  may come with more of a cost than any of us are willing to pay.  

During this show, Hutch and Kyle take time to explain the importance of teaching your kids to achieve at a high level.  But, before doing that, as Strong Dads, we must put their achievement on a foundation of quality values.  In particular, Christian values.  When a person is a high achiever and has done it with the guides of Christian values, everyone benefits.  When a person is a high achiever, but does it at self-interest values, the benefactors are few if any.  

This essentially comes down to teaching our kids about putting God first, others second, and then self.  Living our life by the Golden Rule.  When our kids grow up with these values they become a positive influence on their generation and the generations to follow.
