Everyone loves a great underdog story.  The come from behind. The grit and toughness to persevere and rise to the top.  Whether it is sports or life in general, we all love the rags to riches stories.  During this show, Hutch and Kyle take a few minutes to discuss a little about the underdog stories, but, like all good things, there always seems to be someone trying to steal from the good.

Yes, we have underdog impostors, or what Hutch and Kyle referred to as "dying dogs".  These are people we must be more aware of than ever before.  We must realize that not everyone is a true underdog. Not everyone is doing the work to rise up from the bottom.  Many are trying to ride the heart-strings of us that love the underdog story.  They do this by playing the appearance of the underdog, but when we dig a little deeper, they are only an underdog in clothing.  They are phonies or fakes.

True underdogs put in the time and effort to rise up.  Dying dogs look for things to hide behind.  Reasons, excuses, and blames are part of their native language.  They seek out the victim role with the hopes of avoiding the often difficult journey of a true underdog.  They take shortcuts and wonder why they are in the position they are in.

Dying dogs are not willing to do what is necessary to win.  As a parent we must recognize our child's as well as ourselves desire to take the short cut or avoid the work.  We must then teach and preach against it. Our example says everything about what we are truly teaching our kids.
