Although launching your own business can be both thrilling and terrifying, those aren't the only feelings that new business owners experience. Entrepreneurship is a calling in life rather than just a career. New business owners frequently go through periods of dread, uncertainty, or enthusiasm. But how will you start a business through thorough marketing training and investing in yourself as a new business owner? How will your mindset change as you grow in the business industry? Do you think you can bridge the gap in the current healthcare system?
Welcome to the "Rehab to Wellness B.O.S.S" Podcast! I'm your host, Kim Nartker, PTA. In this week's episode, I will talk about the unwrapping of the ten mistakes that a rehab professional or new business owner makes, which are directed at the mindset and how to unpack those mistakes in hopes that they can take a step to move their new business forward or take a step to open a business with the utmost confidence that they can succeed if they have the right mentorship.
She will touch on such topics as:
- You don’t have to struggle in business if you have the right direction.
- Most physical and occupational therapists stink at finances, marketing, and sales, which becomes a challenge for them to grow a business because a business owner needs to be good at their finances, not just on the clinical side.
- Most business owners don’t want to spend more money on their business, which is a mistake because without investing in the business and in yourself, your business will not succeed at all. Investing in your business is the way that you need to make sure your business is successful.
- As a business owner, you have to provide enough value for your initial visit, which sets up the stretch mobility coaches for success.
- Most business owners don’t understand the fundamentals of business. Most of them would want to use the same forms as other physical therapy business owners, which is a mistake because the forms are meant to give you the data that you need to set you up for success in your consult and to establish boundaries and guidelines in the business.
- Understanding your service and what a customer wants and making sure that your service is delivered meets and exceeds the customer’s expectation of care is going to be a good asset to your business.
- Understanding how much money you put aside for your operation account becomes very necessary for successful business ownership.
- Most new business owners and clinicians don’t know how to keep a customer and put them into a successful program that helps them successfully for the rest of their lives.
- Help each other out, collaborate, and teach your business partners what they need to know so that each of you benefits your community. It is not just one profession that helps a client live their best life.
- Promote your services through partnerships and collaboration.
