Dr Eric Trexler previously held a USAPL state squat record in powerlifting and earned his pro status as a drug free bodybuilder after coming from a background in baseball, football and wrestling throughout high school.
Since 2009 Eric has been coaching a variety of athletes including wrestlers, football players and Special Olympics powerlifters. More recently, he has pivoted towards helping people reach a wide range of fitness and wellness goals through his online coaching programs at Trexler Fitness LLC.
Eric has obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Exercise Science and completed a PhD in Human Movement Science at UNC Chapel Hill. While pursuing his degrees, he completed extensive coursework related to movement, exercise, nutrition, metabolism, psychology and behaviour change.
Trexler has since published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and a few book chapters. Most of his research has focused on practical strategies to help people get bigger, stronger, leaner, healthier and more athletic. Currently he is conducting metabolism research out of Duke University.
