Dylan Altman: HITS for Tim McGraw, Jake Owen, Jason Aldean + more!

On this week’s episode of Stories Behind the Songs, I had the pleasure of sitting down with none other than Dylan Altman. With a blues and rock-heavy background, Dylan tells us all about his instant draw to the industry after watching the music video for “Jump” by Van Halen. From that moment on, Dylan knew that music was what he needed to do, so he started a band and has been playing and writing ever since. 

Dylan has written many songs throughout the course of his career with number ones for Tim McGraw, Jake Owen, and Jason Aldean. He has even more cuts in the bag for Eli Young Band, Trace Adkins, JT Hodges, Eric Paslay, Jonathan Jackson, and more. You’ll hear the full story behind his number one, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” with Jake Owen, his journey in the music industry and struggles with sobriety, and how he is now 4 years sober and doing better than ever. 

Dylan is now booking and playing shows with his blues band and is about to release his very own show with his daughter where they cook with songwriters and special guests and play music afterwards. We are very excited for that show to come out and will let you know when it does – as a songwriter and foodie myself, I can’t wait to see it.
