Making mistakes may lead to a wonderful surprise

You are becoming close with another and begin thinking the two of you have “a thing going on”.
So you take the next step and put yourself “out there”…. testing the water, so to speak, to see if the other is ready to take the next step in your relationship.
You slide a card into their locker at work on Valentine’s day and “bear your soul” to them. You then wait in excited anticipation for their response.
However, they tack your Valentine card to the bulletin board with their response…. NO WAY! …for all to see.
