So, here we are, right after me describing to you my idea of prayer, we are asking God to give us courage. I believe, with all my heart, that we receive every single gift, strength, knowledge through the grace of God when we were created. I say this prayer as a reminder of the wonderful things I have been given that are available to me whenever I choose to use them.
In this part of Niebuhr’s prayer, asking for courage to change those things which should be changed the word “should” bothers me. Every time a use the word should, my wife cringes. I guess I’m starting to have similar feelings and I want to replaceshouldwith the phrase, “have a spiritual need to”.
Season three episode titles and descriptions exiting area We all have courage. For the most part, we use it every day in our human lives. I believe, however, that spiritual courage is different. For me, it has to do with putting my spiritual self out there and making a stand for someone or something that I find to be important as a result of listening to my Spirit. Much like the lion in the Wizard of Oz, we shall find that courage is already there!
I have been trying to formulate my description of the idea of courage. For me, it is something like the following:
”Using a supernatural power or gift for an ultimately good purpose while overcoming the tendencies of my human nature”.
