Step 7: Humble Pie is Delicious! (Part 2)

I believe we all know the meaning of humility, even if we might not want to face our lack of it in our lives. For me, there has even a lack of spiritual humility, especially when I am convinced by my ego that I can ‘go it alone’, and not need the guidance of my Spirit.

This striking-out on my own, this crazy attempt at independence, is the exact opposite of humility. I’m saying, I don’t want your help, God, (because, if I ask for it, my ego will not like the answer). So, my tendency is to defer to God when it is convenient but give control to my ego when I know the spiritual solution will be too uncomfortable.

In this last episode concerning the seventh step, I will talk about the phrase – ‘holding nothing back’.
