Step 4: An Honest Look at Myself (Part 4)

Just to wrap up this this 4th step, I would like to speak a little about looking toward the next step, step 5.
In a nutshell … DON’T!
I know that those of you who are involved with these steps are, as a rule, bright folks. You are not doing each step in a vacuum. You have, as I did, looked ahead at the steps that follow. If you are like me, you may have said to yourself, “Uh, oh, I’m going to have to tell SOMEONE ELSE about the stuff I discover about myself!”
Please, try not to think about step 5 and remember the love strength, fortitude, and courage you have gained from the first three steps. The only thing that can hurt you is the power you relinquish to your ego! As long as you continue to turn your will and your life over to your Spirit / God, you have nothing to worry about. Remember, this step has been designed by God to prepare you for your life to come … to begin to clear away the wreckage or our past. We must simply trust that God will lead us to our spiritual awakening.
