The following is a definition I found of ‘will’, and it works for our purposes here:

Will: the power of control over one's own actions or emotions

For me, this has been no less than surrender, and I think that word/idea really explains it. So, what does surrender mean to you? Is it like opening an artery and letting your life as you know it flow out of you? Or, on the other hand, can you see it as I have learned, a tactical surrender?

Let me put it in terms of a soldier fighting in a war. He is fighting for a country that is oppressive, non-democratic and Godless. The enemy is a country that is the antithesis of all that. So, he surrenders and becomes a citizen of that country. To me, surrender in this case, is a good thing.

In this step, I surrender my will & life to God, my Spirit in order to achieve everlasting life.
