Step 2: A Power Greater than Myself (Part 3)

 In this episode I will finish up with my experience of God and how I connect with God on a daily basis.

Warning: There will NOT be any bright lights, angels, or voices from above in this episode! I’m sure you can find stories of such things all over the internet. I don’t knock them or disbelieve them. For me, however, it has not happened that way. I am a simple, ordinary guy who, I believe, is part of the same spiritual realm as you are. 

When I began to earnestly seek my Spirit, I happened to find the epistle of Paul to the Romans and his words have been etched in my brain and heart. Some are below.

“I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do — this I keep on doing” (verses 18-19). 

“What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?”

This was me. I have since discovered it is the quandry of many others. In short, I had to find strength, a Power greater than myself, … God, in order to turn away from my insanity.
