Now that we are done with the promises, there are a few things I have thought about in the past couple of weeks. They have to do with what happens to us in my day-to-day experiences.

Everything I speak about in these podcasts has to do with my 12-step program. These steps are the guidance for my humanity. They are not my spiritual program. The spiritual me is the me that listens for the inspiration of my Spirit and God. The 12 step program, however, is that way of life that puts me in a position to listen.

In the last couple of weeks we have been moving, because we are selling our house on Plum Island. So we are moving from a three bedroom two bath condominium to a two bedroom one bath apartment. We have been in our Plum Island home for 35 years so it’s been a while since we have had to move. We thought it would be a lot easier this time. We used to rent the truck and move everything with the help of family members, ourselves. This time we had a mover do it and we thought it would be a piece of cake for us. It has been anything but a piece of cake. So I would like to speak to how my way of life as help me through this move.

But first I would like to talk about a subject of one of the readings that my wife and I read every morning. Quite often, it is a book having to do with ACIM because my wife has been very involved in learning their spirituality and we have a lot of
literature around which has been written from that point of view. The book that we are reading now is one of those books. (Love Without Conditions: Reflections of the Christ Mind by Paul Ferrini). In the first few chapters, the author spoke about the spirit and spiritual things and my hopes were high because I liked what I heard in those chapters. However as we have muddled through, the chapters seem to be leaning more and more toward a non-dual existence.. This morning’s chapter was about love in general and in particular, self-love. So today I would like to speak about those issues and what they mean to me.
