Episode Interruptus - Ego

I have one more interruption in this series of episodes. My wife Pat and I usually read some text each morning at breakfast time. Most of the time, because Pat is interested in such things, we read text with a non-dualistic point of view. I usually have somewhat of a difficult time with these readings because my belief is of a dualistic nature. I believe we were created as Spirit and humanity and that it is our mission to surrender the things of humanity in favor of inviting our Spirit as a guide.

However, I would like to talk about one aspect of these non-dualistic approaches, mostly, the ego. It seems that many of these non-dualistic approaches see ego as some kind of construct that is basically evil. I don’t believe the ego has any such attributes nor does it even exist as a “thing” within us. I would describe the ego simply as a process that is the result or culmination of many parts of our humanity.
