Episode #413 -- Adagio for Strings

The Original Trilogy era of Marvel's Star Wars begins it's two-part ending, with the release of Star Wars (Vol. 3) #50, a sprawling yet tight meditation on what it takes to ensure victory and the lengths that some will consider going to attain it. Writer Charles Soule concludes his 50-issue run -- an accomplishment in its own right -- that sets the stage for Darth Vader (Vol. 3) #50 next week.

Inquisitors #3 (of 4) sees Tensu Run not only realize the shortcomings of the Jedi Order, yet strive to build upon them for a better future in a deftly crafted story.

• Condolences to the family of James Earl Jones. The legendary actor who voiced Darth Vader died this week. He was 93.
• Condolences to the family of artist John Cassaday. The comic artist and co-creator of Wildstorm's "Planetary" died. He was 52. Cassaday illustrated Star Wars (Vol. 2) 1-6 and helped inaugurate Marvel's return to the property back in 2015.
• The solicit and covers for Star Wars: The Battle of Jakuu -- Republic Under Seige #3 (of 4) that's due out Dec. 4. Main cover is by Taurin Clarke while the variant is by Leinil Francis Yu and Romulo Fajardo Jr. The mini-series is written by Alex Segura and illustrated by Stefano Raffaele.
• Artist E.M. Gist's covers for The Battle of Jakku -- Last Stand 1-4 are on the Facebook page.
• We expect The Phantom Menace 25th Anniversary Special one-shot will be folded into the Darth Vader Vol. 10 TPB due out at the end of the year. It will collect Darth Vader (Vol. 3) #48-50, meaning there's space for the issue.
