Rent control. The ghastly boogeymen that haunts the dreams of housing economists and landlords alike. A destructive force rivalled only by tornados, earthquakes, and tsunamis. The harbinger of death and (even worse) price distortions.

What is the actual evidence that rent control is bad? Does it stand up to scrutiny? Is it possible that maybe, just maybe, rent control good?
