"You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God" (NIV) or "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain" (NAS). What is this 3rd commandment asking of us? Well, it's a whole lot more than just a prohibition of cursing, swearing, or profanity! The name(s) of God (there are over 100 "name" for God and Jesus in the Bible) are to be exalted in everything we do, say, and think. How?
