Highlights:

Jesus is the anticipated King.

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬-‭7‬‬
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

‭‭Micah‬ ‭5‬:‭2‬‬
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

‭‭Micah‬ ‭5‬:‭4‬‬
He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth.

Jesus is the conquering King.

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬‬
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

Jesus is the eternal King.

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭20‬‬

‭‭Daniel‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬‬
He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

Jesus is the King of kings.

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭19‬:‭11‬-‭16‬‬
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and Lord of Lords.

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬-‭6‬‬

Jesus is the King that is owed our allegiance.

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭4‬‬
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬-‭7‬‬
Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart. Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬‬
Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you.

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬-‭2‬‬
Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭11‬‬
