Acceptance is healing.  

When we accept the existence of negative thoughts and choose not to act on those thoughts, they are healed, at least in part.  It can take many repetitions of this process to drain the power of those thoughts.  

When I break new ground in my progress, the thoughts that are responsible for not having made that progress sooner are forced to the surface to be healed.
