Before you can build trust, you have to define it for you or your organization. This requires you to analyze yourself.  Self-reflection is necessary whether you are trying to build your leadership skills personally, for your family, or in your organization.

Today Toby Travis and I discuss how leaders can build and restore trust. Dr. Toby Travis is the founder of TrustEd, an executive consultant with the Global School Consulting Group, and Superintendent of education at the Village Christian Academy in Fayetteville, NC.

In order to build trust, a leader needs to understand the 6 critical components of trust. We discuss these and how a servant leader is able to build rapport with his/her team, mobilize them, and develop a culture of trust within the organization. (The same rules hold true in a family as well.)

However, not all leaders are created equal and occasionally (quite often) a leader needs to restore the faith and trust of their organization in them. We cover a simple method to begin to build back the trust that was lost.
