For the last 2 years, Shane Murphy has been working with people struggling with Anxiety and Depression. Having worked as a manager in the retail trade in the past, he is acutely aware of the anxiety and stress that this type of job brings about. Additionally, he ran his own company before changing careers to serve others as a psychotherapist. He also serves as the Director of the Youghal (pronounced almost like y'all in the southern US) Cancer Support Center in Cork, Ireland.
In today's episode we cover many topics ranging from the most necessary - learning to find your core values to anxiety, being judged, and dealing with grief. Throughout our discussion we provide tools and advice to help you overcome many of these mental health challenges.
It's only in the last few years that it's becoming mainstream, or OK, to talk openly about our mental health challenges and we break open that topic and have a great discussion, or as the Irish put it...It was good craic!
We have a follow up podcast planned in two weeks where we will cover in depth how to find your core value and how learning it can improve your life for the better.
