Tea is spilled about TRUST after sharing this excerpt from Women Gathering and Growing with TEA, Chapter 3. “Trust is the glue cementing teams together. Unfortunately, women have been conditioned to use trust as a weapon. As we develop our identities, we learn to form friendships. And in female friendships, we increase intimacy by sharing stories and allowing each other to be vulnerable. Sometimes we circumvent this requirement by sharing others’ stories—ones that are not ours to share. We learn early on how to barter secrets, use intel to hide our insecurities, and direct attention away from ourselves and onto someone else. We want so desperately to fit in with peers that we destroy trust in budding relationships. This type of behavior is detrimental to a group of women.”
