Welcome, Margo Connolly-Mason, to In-Focus Podcast Number 111. Margo is an oil painter and collage artist specializing in coastal and natural science-based artwork. Margo says, “My artwork reflects what I see around me as I roam beaches, work on docks, get stuck in salt marshes, and observe the natural and built world from a perspective of curiosity, respect, and a desire to share it.”
Her work highlights the beauty in sometimes unexpected places. She’s found it in a tote of fish waiting for processing on a dock. She’s seen it in a spiky seed pod in an urban garden. It’s there in a lone herring gull on the street.
Margo’s art seeks to capture the dimension, color, and character of her community. She’s lived and worked across the United States, from Massachusetts to Alaska.
