Adi Shankara extols the beauty of Devi’s slender nose in the sixty-first shloka of Soundaryalahari. He compares Devi Lalitha’s nose to the sacred bamboo shoot of Himalaya, exhaling divine breath that forms pearls - that adorn Her nose ring. He prays that this divine bamboo may bear fruits of blessings on all Her devotees.
