Shloka 55: Nimeshonmeshabhyam - Raga Aarabhi

The spiritual wisdom of Adi Shankara shines in this fifty-fifth shloka where he establishes his realisation about the blinking of Devi’s eyes, contrary to the description by great sages. While the sages saw creation and dissolution in the opening and closing of the Mother’s eyes, Adi Shankara explains that Devi, in Her divine compassion for all, sustains the universe by not blinking Her eyes at all.
