Road trips are so much fun because of the ability to take your time and stop along the way to see interesting sites. Road trips also allow the freedom to pack whatever you want without limitations you experience with air travel: no limit on liquid amounts, no baggage fees, no wasted time waiting at airports or cramming all your clothes into a small bag.

There are 25 essential items you must take on road trips.

There are several of these items that should already be in your vehicle and would be good practice to prepare your vehicle, even you are not going on a roadtrip.

1) Spare tire/jack
2) Tire Inflator
3) Car battery jump starter- this compact device allows you to jump your own car without the help of another vehicle.
4) Headlamp (or flashlight)
5) Blanket
6) Old bath towel
7) Umbrella
8)Tote bag/Reusable shopping bag
9) First Aid Kit
10) Napkins/tissues/wipes
11) Toilet paper
12) Ice scraper
13) Plastic silverware
14) Driver's License-ID for driving. Likely you already carry this in your wallet.
15) Extra key for the car. Do not keep on same keychain.
16) Phone charger
17) Portable power bank/charger
18) Water bottle
19) Cooler with food
20) Snacks
21) Sunglasses
22) Sunscreen
23) Cash- including small bills and coin
24) Downloaded materials such as: maps, music, podcasts, audiobooks
25) Pillow

If you have all these items or most in your vehicle and ready, you can have the freedom to spontaneously hop in your car and take a road trip as your heart leads.
