Is it ok to go on a cruise alone?
My guest today, Alyssa Johnson is a Travel Advisor and Cruise Expert who specializes in solo travel. Her goal is to help women comfortably and confidently travel the world solo so they no longer feel like they have to wait for anyone else to see the world. She will be sharing cruise tips and what to expect as a solo traveler on a cruise, what cruise lines cater to solo travelers and other places in the world you can take a cruise.
1)Cruises are a great way to experience solo travel without the fear of being alone and a great first solo trip too.
2) You are not alone on cruises. You are surrounded by many people where you can meet people and be included in activities.
3) Everything is planned for you while on a cruise, including any excursions if you want.
4) How do you avoid the single supplement charge? There are some cruise lines who are starting to recognize the large customer base of solo travelers. Virgin and Norwegian are beginning to offer single rooms.
5) What is an item often forgotten when packing for a cruise? Dental products for tooth emergencies (no dentist on the ship), a first aid kit and pain medicine.
6) There are cruises all over the world, not just in the Caribbean; such as, South Africa, Alaska, Antartica, Japan, Mediterranean, and through Hawaii.
7) Different cruise lines can have a different vibe and offerings, so consult an advisor to make sure you get matched up with the cruise line that fits your personality and travel needs.
