Are you a chronic over-packer? Do you wish you could pack with one carry one when you travel? Do you want to feel less stressed about packing?
Packing can be easy if you adopt the idea of a capsule wardrobe.
Before packing, consider the following:
1) Weather at your destination
2) The activities you will be doing on your trip
3) The local customs
4) Fabric type (weather related too).
A capsule wardrobe for traveling will consist of 10-15 items of clothing, this does not include undergarments.
For a capsule wardrobe, each clothing items should be able to mix and match with other items. Don't pack an item you will only be able to wear once.
Avoid those "just in case" items.
Items:
Shoes- 2-3 pair- a sightseeing pair, an activity pair and a wild card pair; ie: heels, sandels
Bottoms- 3 pants/skirts/leggings
Tops- 3-4
1 sweater
1 jacket
Large scarf for multiple uses
(Swimsuit, if your destination calls for it)
To condense your packing space, fold and roll and use packing cubes.
