As children, we often looked forward to adulthood, expecting to have financial independence and the ability to shape our own destinies. However, we underestimated the emotional complexity of life's various stages, including loneliness. Despite the widespread use of the internet and social media, feelings of loneliness persist.
While social media has made virtual interaction more accessible, it has also led to complex dynamics and impacted different groups of people. Paradoxically, as we become more connected through virtual means, we've come to realize that loneliness is an enduring emotion that cannot be eliminated, regardless of whether we are alone or with others. This ease of virtual interaction has led some individuals to devalue physical meetings and direct contact.
