Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers/Brian Setzer Trio Concert 7/17/02

The Slamfest Podcast brings the premier rock concert pregaming experience from the parking lot to the podcasting airwaves. Episode 79 - Brad saw Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers for the third time in four years...interestingly enough, in three different metro areas and three different venues.  This time it was at Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, VA on 7/17/02.  After he goes through his brief background with the opener, The Brian Setzer Trio, he reviews the show and compares the setlists from the three Petty tours he saw in '99, '01 and '02.  For the Band on the Bill Spotlight, Brad discusses and reviews Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' eleventh studio album, The Last DJ, which had not been released at the time of this show, even though they played three tracks from it during the tour.  After a Slamfest Tip of the Week, he is faced with a "Which Side are you On?" - Side 1 or Side 2 off of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers sixth studio album, Southern Accents, from 1985.
