Michelle Petties's Uncle Billy won't eat watermelon because when he was a kid decades ago he and a friend stole one. Uncle Billy's dad whipped him for stealing, and killed Uncle Billy's taste for the juicy fruit forever. That story was a lightbulb moment for Michelle Petties, author of the forthcoming book Leaving Large: How a Food Addict Won Her 40-Year Battle Over Obesity. In this episode, Michelle talks candidly about her battle with obesity, cosmetic surgery, and how uncovering her own Food Stories helped her shed 60 unwanted pounds, transform her body, relationships and life.
