One way we learn to trust in God is by choosing to stay silent when all we want to do is speak. Not in the moments that need words, but in the moments where our words are really just coming from a place of insecurity.
These are thoughts that have been on my heart for a long time, so thanks for letting me share them with you.
Question
Where do I find it hardest to practice silence, and what does this show me about where I could trust God more?
Prayer
Thank you Jesus that you endured the cross I deserved. I take a moment now to rest in that truth. Thank you that you saw me as worth it. That through your actions I’ve already been justified. Thank you Jesus that your goodness towards me didn’t end with the cross, and that I can trust you to continue to defend me, uphold me, and protect me. Again I choose to lean on your understanding and not my own. Help me as I bring the areas to you where I don’t yet trust you, thank you that you hold them with grace, and invite me deeper into truth. Reveal to me now what I need to hear, and help me to rest in your presence. Amen.
