Lean Not On Your Own Understanding

Proverbs 3:5-6 says: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

That can be so hard sometimes, can't it? It's easy for your own knowledge and understanding to become an idol. So let's explore that.

Question

When was the last time you stepped out in faith, like truly in faith, where you didn’t understand everything or know what the end result would be?

Prayer

Lord, I want to trust you, but I know I naturally trust in other things. So I acknowledge that now and accept your invitation to lean on you and not on my own understanding. Would you lead me deeper into your love today and would it be that, the truth of your love, that helps me to trust in you more. Thank you for loving me first. Amen.
