1 Corinthians 11:1-16 -- It seems to me that we are free indeed from the centuries-old tradition of Sunday hats. While the Queen and her royal British family might protest; and while you will certainly see the cultural vestiges at the good old Kentucky Derby, it is no longer typical to see women of the church wearing these fashion statements as they once did to the worship gathering. So why did women wear hats to church in the first place? Is it okay that this custom has for the most part run its course? Or, should faithful Christians bring it back to the future? We will get to answer these and other fascinating questions as we look at the textual culprit for thousands of years of great fashion in this text. .
