I Don’t Know How You Do It: Author Jessica Fein on Grieving Her Daughter and Choosing to Live and Love Fully

This episode is very close to my heart and I feel blessed to share this conversation of true bravery with you. My guest, Jessica Fein is the mother of three children whom she and her husband adopted from Guatemala. This past March their middle child Dalia died of the ultra-rare mitochondrial disease MERRF Syndrome. Jessica shares how the whole family chose to live, and love fully, and not allow her illness to define their family. 

Jessica and I talk about how more than once during our caregiving journeys we heard the words, ‘I don’t know how you do it.’  Jessica is sharing her story about how she did it, in her upcoming memoir, ‘Breath Taking, Rare Girl in a World of Love and Loss’, which will be published in 2024. She's also bringing that statement to life in her soon to be launched, “I Don't Know How You Do It” podcast.

This episode is about learning how to incorporate joy into any situation, and how not to let tragedy define you. It is also about how you have the power to choose not only to survive but thrive in the face of fear.
