Lesson 34 - The categories of shirk - Part 2
From the matters which should necessitate fear of falling into shirk is that despite Allah's great Mercy, the one who dies upon shirk has no hope or share in this mercy and the Hellfire will be their abode for eternity.
Their punishment in the Hellfire will start in their graves. They will wish they could return to this world to worship Allah upon tawheed, or that they would die to be relieved from the severe punishment. They will only receive an increase in punishment.
Our example in fearing falling into shirk is Prophet Ibraheem, who made a du'aa for himself and his progeny that they be saved from the worship of the idols.
