The first week of the federal election is in the books, and Shane Hewitt is breaking it all down with journalist and broadcaster Rob Breakenridge. Are the federal parties really offering anything new, or just the same old political playbook? Also a discussion about Trump’s announcement today imposing 25 per cent tariffs on all auto imports, dealing another blow to Canada.

Bryan N. Detchou, Senior Director of Natural Resources, Environment and Sustainability, Canadian Chamber of Commerce, joins Shane Hewitt to criticize the Parliamentary Budget Officer's (PBO) assessment of the Oil and Gas Emissions Cap, arguing that it will harm the Canadian economy by curbing production, costing jobs, and reducing investment. They claim the PBO's calculations are flawed and that the cap, along with other policies targeting the oil and gas sector, will lead to billions in lost GDP and tens of thousands of job losses. The Chamber advocates for climate action but insists it must be balanced with economic growth and competitiveness.

Tony Chapman is the host of Chatter that Matters, and he joins the Nightshift to discuss Canada’s home improvement and hardware store, Canadian Tire.
