This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:
No Time For Hiding
Our text for today is taken from one of my favorite books in the Old Testament – the Book of Esther. The story of Esther has intrigue, danger, and a hero.
The Book of Esther unfolds in the Persian Empire, where Esther, a Jewish orphan raised by her cousin Mordecai, rises from obscurity to become the queen of King Xerxes.
Unbeknownst to the king, Esther is Jewish, and her people are endangered by a decree instigated by Haman, an arrogant royal advisor with a vendetta against Mordecai.
Mordecai persuades Esther to risk her life by revealing her identity to the king and pleading for her people. Exhibiting great courage, Esther skillfully intervenes, inviting the king and Haman to a series of banquets where she exposes Haman's plot.
The king, enraged by the deception, orders Haman's execution on the gallows meant for Mordecai and grants the Jews the right to defend themselves against their enemies.
The story celebrates Esther’s bravery, the triumph of justice over conspiracy, and the deliverance of the Jewish people, which history commemorates in the festival of Purim.
The theme of this message is that God places us in specific circumstances with significant opportunities to influence and act according to His purpose.* * * * *
