Welcome back to Episode 5 of The Self Podcast. Before we dig into today’s conversation we wanted to thank everyone who has tuned in to these first episodes! Your support and feedback has been amazing and encouraging. We are so happy to now officially be on iTunes and Google Play, which means if you go to either of those and type in “The Self Podcast Blog” you will find our show! In today’s episode we talk about our newly created “Zen Bubbles,” and how they really translate into our own personal safe spaces. Given the climate in our country and around the world it has been increasingly difficult to stay positive and keep a smile on our face. Which is why we think it is important to protect your mind and your space. We delve into the historical meaning behind safe spaces and how important they can be for diverse groups of people. This past year has been emotional for a lot of people, and has left many feeling hurt and confused. We want to recognize how vital it is that each of us start being advocates for our own mental health. Whether that means creating your own zen bubble, safe space, or simply disconnecting from the internet. We each have the power over what we consume and what we allow into our lives and minds. When you take that stand to protect your space, you are in essence practicing one of the highest forms of self-love and self-care. Always remember that it is okay to take care of yourself first before taking on the burdens of the world around you. We know it can get difficult, but we encourage you all to grab hold of something that gives you hope and remember that you are supported. - Emily and Jordan Listen to the Episode Here
