S1 Ep 15 - Interview: The struggle to get pregnant with PCOS

On this episode, I interview my long-time friend Kelly who is struggling to get pregnant. A lot of people want to have a baby and for some it’s super easy, they have sex and then taddah, they’ve got a bun in the oven. However for almost 1 in 7 heterosexual couples in the UK this is simply not the case. Reasons for not being able to conceive easily vary couple to couple and PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) is a common condition that affects how a woman's ovaries work - but there is no treatment. It has been rearing its head for a long while now yet still doesn’t have the awareness that it should. It’s a silent reason for difficulties getting pregnant but one that we should all know more about. Weight plays a big role with PCOS and in general all pregnancies but Kelly’s struggle meant that she had to take drastic action because of her age as well, to help her chances of conceiving. This is an emotional story and one that I feel honoured to have been able to learn about. I am so grateful to Kelly for allowing me to interview her for the podcast, in the hope that her insights might be able to help someone.
