Labor Day, 1969: Then 9-year old Thom and his family were driving through the Sheffield Covered Bridge, in Sheffield Massachusetts. They saw a sphere that rose from the Housatonic River, then another one, then a large disc-shaped object that looked a lot like a turtle shell... It had a reddish tint. Then there seemed to be a pressure change, some sounds, our car lit up, and there was what seemed like a "vacuum of silence," and that was the last that he remembered.
