Paul Mazzafaro  - Grew up in East Hartford, CT

From Marine Corps Officer Training during college, Paul went into the Sporting Goods business. He started a trophy division, and made more in two months in trophies than he did in a year in Sporting Goods. He opened a store, and expanded. He sold not only trophies, but anything you could put your name on. He sold the business, and went on to do pharmaceutical sales. Paul did very well, but it wasn't what he liked to do, so he packed up, moved to Florida, went into Commercial Real Estate, and quickly did well. He also got into business brokerage. After a long, circuitous trip, he started Same Day Awards.

Paul got a beautiful website, and had some serious problems with the site functionality because the offshore company that developed the site didn't build it correctly. He had a local company analyze the site, and had to get an entirely new web site. The business now is thriving and the company employs about two dozen employees. He's built the business to a big concern in about six to seven years. He calls his company "a logistics company that happens to sell trophies."

Ali Mandsaurwala - President at Accessible Home HealthCare of Aventura and Livefree Crossfit

Ali went to high school in Miami and attended medical school at Universidad Iberoamericana where he obtained his M.D. He went into Home HealthCare. Ali calls himself a member of a "dying breed" -- those people who go out of their way to protect and serve their clientele.

He has a very thorough applications process. There are prerequisites involving certifications, experience, academic accomplishments. They're hiring now, because there is a healthy level of turnover in the Home HealthCare arena.
