Directed by Rachel Ramsay and James Erskine, COPA 71 transports the viewer back to August of 1971 as teams of women from England, Argentina, Mexico, France, Denmark and Italy descend upon Mexico City for the very first (unofficial) Women's World Cup. Despite 100,000 roaring fans in the stands, this ground-breaking tournament has been largely lost to the history books. Now, COPA 71 seeks to bring the courageous stories of these women to light once again. In this 1on1, we speak to Ramsay about reviving history, women's sports as a political act and the fear of FIFA.
