On today's show, Keven spoke with our Chief Communications Officer, Drew Johnson, and Tracie Sweet, Director of Federal Programs.Tracie Sweet is the Director of Federal Programs at the South Carolina Public Charter School District. She oversees federal programs such as Title I, Title II, Title IV, COVID Impact Relief Funds, foster care, and homeless. Before this position, Tracie was an education associate in the Office of Federal and State Accountability at the South Carolina Department of Education. In addition to providing Title, I technical assistance to districts throughout the state, Tracie served as the SCDE's point of contact for foster care, the facilitator for parent, family, and community engagement for Title I schools, and served as a member of the ESSA management team. Educational background includes teaching elementary school, being a program facilitator at the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA), being the principal at Temple Christian Academy in Anderson, SC, adjunct professor and student teacher supervisor at Anderson University, consultant for National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards, and parent facilitator/Title I coordinator at Williston School District 29. Tracie lives in Pendleton, SC, with her husband and two amazingly talented daughters.
