Producer Effie T. Brown joins me in syudio with some of the cast

members of the film "The Inheritance" Golden Brooks ( Girlfriends), Darrin DeWitt Henson

(Soul Food) and Lanre Idewu were on hand to share their stories of the very cold shoot (

in Minnesota), why they love the film and Darrin showed a side of him that many of us have

not seen he is very knowledgable about this business, I was impressed with all of them.

The Inheritance is being presented at the 19th Annual Pan African Film Festival.

Mary Apick an Iranian-American playwrite whose play "Beneath the Veil" that delves beyond

the western stereotypes of the repressive headscarf revealing the powerful true stories of

ten different women of all ages who face oppression in the Middle East especially, Iran

where she was a huge star and her family fled after the over throw of the government when

she was just 19 years old.

Listen to her passion and her love of these and other oppressed women. And we live in the

21st century and women the world over are STILL being violated, no rights, no voice...

Mary Apick gives them voice and recognition.
