Are you a restaurant owner in Abuja, or anywhere really, looking to boost your sales and orders on Glovo or similar on-demand delivery platforms?
I recently answered a listener question on my podcast from Miracle, a restaurateur here in Abuja, who wanted to know how to get more out of his Glovo storefront.
The truth is, maximizing sales on any two-sided marketplace like Glovo, Jumia, Konga, or Amazon comes down to two critical areas: optimization and operational excellence.
First, let's talk optimization. If your sales are lagging, the first place to look is your storefront. Is it easy for customers to find you and get excited about what you offer? Here are the key elements to review:
* Business Name: Is it clear and memorable?
* Logo: Does it stand out and represent your brand well?
* Images: Are your product photos high-quality, appealing, and mouth-watering?
* Menu/Catalogue & Descriptions: Is your menu easy to navigate, and are your product descriptions enticing and accurate?
* Ratings & Reviews: Are you actively managing and encouraging positive feedback?
While paid promotions and advertising features on these platforms can be an option if you have the budget to test their effectiveness, I always emphasize that they're secondary to a well-optimized profile.
This brings me to the most crucial point: operational excellence. You can have the most perfectly optimized profile in the world, but if you falter on product fulfillment, delivery, or overall customer experience, negative ratings and reviews will quickly tank your success.
Ultimately, a strong, appealing online presence combined with seamless operations leads to happy customers, repeat business, and positive word-of-mouth. This is the true recipe for sustained growth on platforms like Glovo.
