💁🏻 Concept: Redemption
Redemption refers to Christ’s saving work as an act of “buying back” sinners from bondage to sin, death, and the devil through the payment of a ransom—His own life. The imagery is drawn from the slave markets of the ancient world, where captives were purchased and set free. While the ransom concept is biblical, caution against over-specifying to whom the ransom was paid. The focus is not on the recipient, but on the Redeemer—Jesus Christ, who satisfied God’s justice and liberated us by His blood.

Redeeming Savior, thank You for rescuing me from the bondage of sin and death. You paid the price I could never pay, and now I belong to You. Help me live in the joy and freedom of Your redemption. Teach me to turn from every chain You’ve already broken and walk in the light of Your victory. Let my life reflect the worth of the One who gave everything to set me free. I also pray that I will be able to extend the same redeeming grace, I received from You, to the people around me. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray, amen.
